NEW! Ferno FDU

The new Ferno FDU is designed for personal rescue, emergency escape, rescue operations or specialised rope work. It is a friction control, double stop, descending system, with a simple and soft moulded, operator handle.

The system starts releasing its load when the handle is moved towards the central position. Should a panic grab take place and the handle is pulled past the central position, the system locks up into the double stop mode.

This mode will only be maintained with the force exerted by the operator, until a gentle release takes place. If the handle is let go, the system automatically locks. For rescue loads (2 persons) the Ferno FDU is available with an additional friction rack. The Ferno FDU has been extensively tested with Donaghys 11 mm Rescue Response Static Rope and Donaghys 11 mm Response XT Rope and when used with either of these ropes will conform to AS/NZS 4488.1:1997.

Height Dynamics work on the Swanbank Powerstation

Having a highly skilled team that work well together makes all the difference when the you are required to respond quickly, efficiently and safely to a clients’ urgent call. This was clearly demonstrated recently when Height Dynamics received a call from Swanbank Powerstation to paint an 80 m2 rectangle at the top of one of the stacks measuring 150m tall.

Given only a small window of opportunity Height Dynamics used all of its resources to bring the job together; 300m custom-made length of polyester rope was made overnight, the rope access team developed a unique hauling system for the job that was engineer certified before being installed on-site the next day. Two of the most senior rope access technicians were flown back from a geotechnical survey in the Kuranda Ranges of Cairns to ensure the job was completed as quickly and efficiently as possible.Add to this an office team which provided the most up to date safety plans, Work Method Statement, Job Safety Analysis and Environmental Protection Plan ensuring all aspects of work conform with all relevant Australian Standards.

The job was completed on budget, before deadline, no incidents, quality work and problem solved.Quality suppliers, quality team and experience makes HD the ‘First Choice’ in rope access.
